About the Archive

The dead never stop whispering.

The Cold Files is a curated archive of history's most confounding unsolved murders — the ciphers that resist cracking, the corpses that outlive the detectives, the questions that get whispered across generations.

Every file here is drawn from public record: police archives, court testimony, journalists' notes, and forensic re-openings. We do not sensationalize, and we do not invent. When a name is a suspicion, we redact it. When evidence is contested, we say so.

Attached to each dossier is Detective J. Holloway — a Claude Sonnet 4.5-powered investigator briefed on the entire file. He'll walk you through the timeline, weigh the suspects, and remind you what the physical evidence actually says.

Curated Files

Ten founding cases from 1888 to 2023 — new dossiers added as the archive grows.

AI Detective

An on-file consultant, in character, briefed only on the case you're reading. No hallucinations across dossiers.

Public Record

Everything cited is verifiable. This is a reference, not a rumor mill.

Redacted by Design

Suspect names are covered unless you choose to reveal them. Respect the not-yet-convicted.
